Practical AI Guidance for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses

I help small and mid-sized businesses work out where AI actually saves time. Then I set it up properly and train your team to use it. When you need something built, I write the custom software too.

Every project is quoted after a free intro call.

Sound familiar?

These are the problems I help with most.

  • You know AI could help. You just don't know where to start.

The industry is moving fast, things keep changing, and you have a business to run.

  • You're using ChatGPT, but mostly for writing.

It drafts, you copy and paste. You can tell there's more it could do, but it's hard to picture where it fits into your business.

  • That spreadsheet runs your business, and now it's holding it back.

It worked when you started. Now it's slow, it breaks easily, and only one person really knows how it works.

  • Leads slip through the cracks.

A call comes in after hours or a quote never gets a follow-up, and that job goes to someone else.

What I do

Most work starts with AI adoption. Custom software comes in when you need something built.

Start here

AI adoption

I find where AI helps, pick the right tools, set them up and train your team. You get a written plan and tools your people will actually use.

When you need it built

Custom software

Internal tools, integrations and AI features. I build them with enterprise engineering practices, sized for small and mid-sized businesses, and you own the code.

Why work with me

I build software for a living, and I bring that same care here. You'll get plain English instead of jargon, with no hype and no surprises.

Michael Tanami, founder of Working AI
  • An engineer, not a reseller. I'm an enterprise software engineer, so my advice comes from building and running real systems.
  • Honest about where AI fits. If AI isn't worth it, or an off-the-shelf tool would do the job, I'll tell you.
  • You own everything. The code, accounts and documentation are yours, so you're never locked in.
  • You work with me directly. I take on a limited number of clients at a time.
  • Local to the Valley. I work with small and mid-sized businesses in the Scottsdale & Phoenix area, and remote works too.

How it works

Three simple steps, with a clear quote before any work starts.

See the full process
  1. Talk

A free 20–30 minute intro call about what's slowing you down and what you'd like to fix.

  2. Plan

I look at how your team works, then send a written plan and a clear quote, either a fixed scope or a time-box.

  3. Build and train

I set up the tools or build the software, train your team, and hand everything over.

Common questions

Do I need to be technical?

No. I explain everything in plain English, and training your team is part of the work. If you can describe how your business runs day to day, that's enough.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. I'm based in the Valley and work with small and mid-sized businesses in the Scottsdale & Phoenix area, but most of the work can happen over video calls and email.

What size businesses do you work with?

Small and mid-sized businesses, from owner-run shops to teams with several departments. The common thread is work that takes longer than it should.

How much does it cost?

Every project is quoted after a free intro call. The quote is either a fixed scope or a set block of time, and we agree on it before any work starts.

Not sure where to start? Let's talk.

A free 20–30 minute call. No sales pitch, no pressure. You'll come away with a clearer idea of what's worth doing, even if we don't end up working together.
